KIZ Partners
A strong and interconnected network serves to provide support for our KIZ companies. Led by Huntingdon County Business and Industry and Juniata College, the partnership also includes many other support organizations. Please contact a member of the HCBI team if you would like a personal introduction to one or more of our partner organizations.
- Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (JCEL) - Provides collaborative space in the Sill Business Incubator, a student seed capital program and an entrepreneurial Video Library;
- Ben Franklin Technology PArtners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania - Provides business consulting services, access to private capital and investments in young technology companies in central PA;
- Ben Franklin Venture Investment Forum - Offers guidance, assistance and workshops to companies seeking venture capital funding; supports the KIZ workshop program;
- Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce - Provides information, workforce development and networking opportunities for county businesses;
- Huntingdon County Commissioners - Leads the Huntingdon County Partnership for Economic Progress (PEP) and serves on the Board of SAP&DC (see below);
- Huntingdon County Enterprise Zone Revolving Loan Fund - Serves as a local source for low-interest loans for growing businesses;
- Huntingdon County Planning and Development - Supports small businesses with zoning and planning issues, and coordinates the information technology infrastructure within the business community;
- Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central Pennsylvania (LSGPA) - Provides funding opportunities to businesses in the technology and life science industries;
- Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) - Provides a wide range of economic development financing programs, coordinated locally by HCBI;
- Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) - Offers business assistance and one-on-one consulting to start-up and small companies in Huntingdon County.
Other local, regional and state partners are also valuable resources to new businesses, and are strong supporters of the KIZ:
- Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau - Assists tourism-based businesses in reaching target markets and attracting and retaining a strong customer base;
- Pennsylvania Career Link - A source of information for employers, including a learning library and lists of potential employees;
- Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC) - Our regional organization supporting businesses through workforce development, infrastructure improvement and business financing programs.
