Raystown Wireless is a wireless internet company providing high-speed internet to people and places that do not have access to a phone line. Raystown Wireless is a Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) company located in Huntingdon County. The current areas of use are Huntingdon, Southern Blair, and Northern Bedford Counties.
Raystown Wireless offers high-speed wireless internet services to the Raystown Lake area and the campgrounds associated with that area, as well as wireless internet for businesses and homes. The company uses long range equipment with a 900 Mhz frequency which goes through trees, buildings, fog, and precipitation better than the traditional 2.4 ghz system to provide a much needed service in hard to reach areas.
As more communication towers are constructed, Raystown Wireless plans to expand its coverage to more and more areas that currently are without internet.
